– YOU DON’T TAKE A PHOTOGRAPH, YOU MAKE IT –

Some say it’s Art, some say it’s “magic” – I say it’s using your vision and the tools at hand, in my case, being my trusty Nikon D850 or the Hasselblad X2D II  to Make the Image.

It’s the Making that is the magic of photography.

– HIMBA of NAMIBIA-

I’m very grateful the Himba Tribe of Omapaha were so accommodating helping me meet one of my high priority subjects to photograph in Namibia. Their very small village is located in the Etosha national Park, Northern Namibia.

The Himba are a semi-nomadic, pastoralist people in northern Namibia and southern Angola. Known for their distinctive red-tinted skin and hair, created using a mixture of butterfat and ochre, they maintain a traditional way of life focused on cattle herding, with a deep connection to ancestor veneration.

What a fabulous experience to spend the afternoon with them in their very small village.
